I am Chitali Biswas from Hetalbunia village in Bangladesh beside the expansive Sundarbans. My childhood drawings of a mud house, towering tree, and riverside path always reflected my deep bond with my vulnerable homeland. Cyclone Sidr in 2007 devastated my village, taking my best friend and school, and sparking my passion for disaster management. I became the first woman in my family to pursue higher education, earning a master's in landscape architecture and environmental planning from NCSU, which equipped me to create resilient, equitable designs that enable all life—plants, animals, and humans—to withstand climate challenges, advocating for resilience across generations.
