Sara Hadavi is Assistant Professor of Landscape Architecture in the College of Arts & Architecture at Penn State University. She earned her MLA from the University of Illinois (UIUC) and her PhD in Landscape Architecture from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Sara is interested in translational design of everyday urban landscapes through interdisciplinary work, linking environmental psychology, planning, and design. She has explored people's needs and preferences that can be addressed through planning/design to create restorative environments, green infrastructure and neighborhood satisfaction, as well as vacant lot greening programs and their spatial/social outcomes that impact visual quality and sense of safety in disinvested urban areas. She was previously an Assistant Professor of Landscape Architecture at Kansas State University.
