Eric is a Supervisory Horticulturist for Smithsonian Gardens where he works at the intersection of science, history, art, and culture in Washington D.C. He manages the gardens surrounding the National Museums of Natural History, African American History and Culture, and the American Indian. He has a BA from the University of Virginia and a master’s certificate in Landscape Design from The George Washington University. After more than a decade working in the residential design/build industry, Eric pivoted to the public garden world to advocate for public gardens as spaces of respite, healing, cultural celebration and historical significance.
