Robert L. Ryan, FASLA, is a Professor in the Department of Landscape Architecture and Regional Planning, University of Massachusetts, Amherst where he teaches courses on green infrastructure planning and research issues. His research explores how place attachment motivates green space stewardship. He is co-author of the award-winning book, With People in Mind: Design and Management of Everyday Nature (Island Press, 1998), Planning for Climate Change (Routledge, 2019), as well as over forty journal articles and book chapters. He has a PhD (Natural Resources), MLA, and MUP from University of Michigan and a BSLA from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
