Tammy Stidham, a 35-year employee of the National Park Service, has served as the Associate Regional Director for lands and planning for the National Capital Region in August 2023 which responsibilities include planning, compliance, land acquisition, congressional affairs, the commemorative works process for new memorials, and the contaminated sites programs for 87,000 acres of parkland in the District of Columbia, portions of Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia. In addition, she represents the Secretary of the Interior on the National Capital Planning Commission and the Director of the NPS on the D.C. Zoning Commission and the National Capital Memorial Advisory Commission.
