Karin Schierhold is an urban planner with the National Capital Planning Commission’s Physical Planning Division. Her work supports the Pennsylvania Avenue Initiative and other strategic planning and urban design efforts focusing on public space, infrastructure, and climate adaptation. Prior to joining NCPC, she worked as an architect, publication editor, and research fellow in the Washington DC area and abroad. Karin holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Architecture in Urban Design from the Harvard Graduate School of Design.
