In the wake of SCOTUS' ruling in City of Grants Pass v. Johnson, we are seeing first-hand the implications of policies and codes that actively weaponize the spaces WE DESIGN to criminalize the frontline communities they support. If our work does not advocate for more empathetic approaches that consider the voices and identities that are not often heard or designed for, but are at the frontline of climate action, like the unhoused, are we complicit in the criminalization they experience in the 'public' spaces WE DESIGN?
