MON-B06: Achieving Success on a Shoestring: How to Leverage Creativity for Nonprofit Clients

The new Trees Atlanta headquarters will be used as a case study to examine strategies for maximizing impacts on a tiny budget. Topics include reusing materials from both on-site and off-site, donor alignment, labor efficiency through scope-sharing between two landscape architecture firms and developing highly effective stormwater solutions.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Learn strategies for identifying, stockpiling, and reusing materials on-site, as well as finding and integrating crowdsourced, donated materials throughout all design phases.
  • Learn how to design and implement low-cost stormwater treatment strategies that meet the most stringent sustainability standards.
  • Learn how landscape architects from multiple firms can collaborate to make the project budget more efficient.
  • Learn strategies for working with client-provided and installed plant material.
