Entrepreneurship is both risky and rewarding; making the move to running your own office can be daunting. This talk takes guests through the formation of a new firm. Learn about your rights as you transition from employee to employer. Instead of a side gig, why not start a main gig?

Learning Outcomes:

  • Learn preparatory strategies to consider for your future practice prior to leaving full-time employment.
  • Learn what to look out for in your employment agreements and contracts with regard to approaching existing client relationships, non-competes, and ethical conduct.
  • Gain step-by-step knowledge of starting a firm, including who to consult when thinking about a new venture and how to transition this knowledge into firm ownership.
  • Learn methods of funding and growing your business over time, beginning prior to departing full-time employment, and strategies for managing costs.
